ENGLISH TO GERMAN
TRANSLATION SERVICES
BIBLIOGRAPHY OF  TRANSLATED BOOKS
You are no doubt looking for a translator who is able to capture the "feel" of your English original and transfer the meaning into German; someone who creates a translation that doesn't read like a translation and yet, at the same time, aims to preserve the original author's voice.

You may also be looking for a culturally sensitive translator; someone who knows how to adapt your English document for a German readership. If so, you have come to the right place! As experienced and professional literary translators who translated several bestselling novels, we specialize in what language professionals call "transcreations" - creative and culturally sensitive translations that require imagination and a love of words. Our well-honed sense of language usage, idiom and nuance means you get much more than a one-to-one translation. We guarantee an expressive text, written in real German.

Research
Science? History? Art? Design? Music? Whatever the subject, we will do the research needed to make your translation as correct and as credible as possible and as our translations of lots of fictional and non fictional books covering a broad variety of different topics prove.

***
As a matter of course your input is substantial for a successful translation. That's why we need your help with the following details:

  • Please specify whether the translation is for publication, or just for information purposes.
  • What sort of text is it and where will it be published (book, magazine, script, press release, PowerPoint presentation, website etc.)?
  • What's your potential target audience and what effect should the text have on the reader?
  • Do you work with glossaries or terminology databases that would help us observe your corporate wording?
  • Anything other important details we should know?

Additional services
We also offer proofreading and copyediting services, checking the accuracy of translations and other texts, and correcting German copy for spelling, grammar, punctuation and inconsistencies prior to publication.

Prices
Our prices are calculated on the basis of translated lines (55 characters including spacing). Rates range depending on text volume, complexity and deadline requirements between 1,00 € and 1,60 € per translated line.

The amount of time that is needed for creative adaptations such as slogans, advertisements, and PowerPoint presentations varies greatly. This is why in these cases we do not charge per word, but instead per hour.

An hourly rate is also charged for the proofreading or editing of texts produced by other translators or authors, depending on job volume.
